I am back….

I have taken a break from writing a Journey…but usually as we get ready for the Summer run…I usually start getting back into the swing of writing.  With a lot of events over the next few months…I thought I might need to start back a little earlier than normal!

This past week…on April 1st (April Fools Day) it marked my 31st year of being on staff at BHCC.  Barbara and I have called BHCC our church home since the fall of 1978.  We have been blessed beyond measure to be part of this church family.

This weekend…marks the 30th year…that we have spent Easter at Lads to Leaders!  Another blessing in our life!

On May 17th…Brentwood Hills will celebrate its 60th Anniversary!  So get ready—we are about to celebrate!

It is Easter Weekend!

I hope you are making your plans to be at Brentwood Hills in the morning!

We anticipate that we could have a good number of GUESTS tomorrow.  To help us accommodate our guest in our service and with our parking—we would like to encourage many of you that regularly attend our late service (10:30 am) to consider attending our 8:15 am service.  We typically have a few more seats available during that service.

Those of you who can, we encourage you to park away from the building this Sunday morning, saving the parking spaces closer to the building for our guests.

Also, we will have Sunday school at 9:30 am.  Due to the Easter holiday, there will be no Children’s Worship Training.

Sunday evening we will meet in the main auditorium at 5:55 pm for our evening service.  Mike Allen from Habitat for Humanity will be bringing our partner family for us to meet and to get to know better.  We will get a chance to hear their story and pray for this family as we begin work on their house next weekend.  Remember that you can sign up for a time to work by going to our website  www.brentwoodhills.org

It is going to be a great day at Brentwood Hills!

Early this morning I was thinking about our family at BHCC as I walked nearly a ‘country mile’ through the Opryland Hotel and parking lot to make the traditional Saturday morning run to McDonalds to get breakfast for our Lads to Leaders families!

In the quiet of the morning, I reflected on how blessed I am to be part of a church that values families and our young people.  On May 17th we will celebrate our 60th Anniversary—and for 30 of those years we have been part of Lads to Leaders.

Please say a prayer today to thank God for the hundreds of volunteers, families and young people that have been impacted by this program through the years.

Lets continue to share “Light and Love” on our Journey to the Son!

“Christ like—Service minded”…I look forward to worshiping and celebrating our resurrected Lord—with each you tomorrow!

Enjoy the Journey!
